Bermondsey has been named the best place to live in the capital for quality of life.
The Quality of Life Index, published by search agent and boutique developer Banda Property, found that the area topped the list based on a number of a factors including green space, quality schools, transport connectivity and the X-factor provided by great shops and restaurants.
While Shepherd’s Bush came second and Clapham was in third place, other areas making the top 10 are: King’s Cross, Paddington, Barnsbury, Hampstead and Parsons Green among others.
Louisa Brodie, head of search and acquisitions at Banda Property, said: “Bermondsey has risen rapidly over the last few years to become a hotspot for families and professionals, winning on the desirability factor due to combined affordability and access to all the things that make life easier, including that elusive London village feel. House prices have seen 49% growth in the last five years, but it remains good value compared with its counterparts north of the river.
